Jay R. Seltzer, MD

Dr. Seltzer was born and raised in the St. Louis area and, following high school, attended medical school at the University of Missouri, Kansas City. He returned to St. Louis for his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University School of Medicine, where he also served as Chief Resident.

He completed a Nephrology Fellowship at Washington University where he remained as full-time faculty until 1996, at which time he moved his practice to Missouri Baptist Medical Center where he was appointed Chief of Nephrology and Medical Director of Renal and Dialysis Services.

Dr. Seltzer is Board Certified in Nephrology.  His clinical interests include urine microscopy and the diagnosis and treatment of glomerular disease.  

His hobbies include travel, hiking, photography and growing succulents and various tropical plants.  He has been consistently recognized in “Best Doctors” in St. Louis Magazine and “The Best Doctors in America” list.
