
Jay R. Seltzer, MD
Dr. Seltzer was born and raised in the St. Louis area and, following high school, attended medical school at the University of Missouri Kansas City. He returned to St. Louis for his Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine at Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University School of Medicine where he also served as Chief Resident.
Nephrology Fellowship training was completed at Washington University where he remained as full time faculty and served as Clinical Director of the Kidney Stone Center and Associate Director of Fellowship Training at Jewish Hospital.
In 1996 Dr. Seltzer moved his practice to Missouri Baptist Medical Center where he was subsequently appointed Chief of Nephrology and Medical Director of Renal and Dialysis Services.
He has co-authored textbook chapters on Nephrolithiasis (Kidney Stones) and has been consistently recognized in “Best Doctors” in St. Louis Magazine and “The Best Doctors in America” list.
Dr. Seltzer is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology. His clinical interests include treatment of nephrolithiasis (with a focus on prevention), chronic kidney disease, and dialysis (including home dialysis modalities). His hobbies include wildlife photography and growing orchids and bromeliads.
